Border Collie
fine art print
"Border Encounter"
This drawing represents my first attempt to expand on the open edition head study range, which was being marketed by my publishers Berjaya. Unfortunately it soon became clear that the time involved in its completion could realistically only be achieved by releasing it as a limited edition print. This also meant I could print to a quality and not to a price.
That year (1991) I was the guest artist on a booth at Crufts and I worked on this Border Collie drawing for the duration of the show. To this day, people still remember me drawing this study - many of them coming to see me work on each of the four days of the show.
The original drawing took 140 hours to complete and remains in my private collection.
