Seascape
I am enjoying trying out different subjects, such as landscapes, seascapes, and atmospheric skies. Such a change from animal portraits, but hope eventually to combine the two.

Re: Seascape
Elaine, I absolutely love this! Water is such a complex subject too! I'm getting a sense that the waves are receding in the distance, and also that they're becoming much stronger as they approach the beach. I'm also getting a sense that the water is transparent where it just barely covers the sand or earth. I expect to see some seagulls or pelicans flying by any minute!

Re: Seascape
This is absolutely lovely, and so very alive.
It's a wonderfully-studied drawing. Truly a frozen moment in time. And I really think you've captured the essence of your subject.
I can almost hear the swish as the front wave sweeps up the beach, and the crash as the following wave breaks.

Re: Seascape
Water is tricky, waves more so... but you nailed it. Lovely work.
Re: Seascape
Thank you very much, Laurene, Mike and Linda. Waves are fascinating to watch aren’t they....I also love the idea that the image was only present for a split second, and will never appear in exactly the same way again.
