This is why (as usual) I haven’t managed to finish the tattoo at one go.
I’ve focused to get the outline down for further reference, and I’ve tried to mark the darkest tones visible on the tarantula…
The next session I’ll try to improve the whole hairy body of the spider to make it more detailed and attractive
This is my FIRST attempt ever to make tarantula.
Years years ago I’ve drawn the Black Widow, which is hairless spider…
This time I felt great challenge to achieve the hairy effect not really making single hairs …
I’m happy so far, my client is happy as well
I’m sure about it, because for 3h I’ve asked for £30 and got paid £50

The reference is bad, I know it - but I’d like to use it because of the angle the spider is presented…
And it’s representing the correct specimen of Poecilotheria Rufilata, not any other similar looking if you know I mean.

Yes, I do know what you mean. I’ve been there too. If the pose is perfect, the photo is out of focus. If it’s in focus, the pose is all wrong. LOL. That’s where the artist comes in. Your drawing is so much better than the reference!
