Feeling a bit crabby?

Some further ink work. A very quick drawing - less than an hour - using Staedtler black pigment liners with Sennelier turquoise and sepia ink washes. A touch of red and indigo inktense where needed.

There's something very menacing about the two in the rear. Which, I suppose, is why they let Happy Harry lead them into battle.

I love it! Really, I do!

lol. You should see them all on the beach, we are talking hunderds and hundreds of the little guys skittering about feasting on the mud flats. Trying to get a photo of them was tricky, as they would sink back into the mud if you got too close. I had to creep out onto the mud flats and crouch there silently for 10 minutes or so, slowly sinking up to my ankles in the mud before they popped up again, close, so I could take photos.
They are a beautiful blue.

Sometimes the simplest compositions are best. There’s something very appealing about these little guys, even the menacing ones ! LOL. Love it!!
