This is #14 in the 'Ocean' series of drawings I have been doing. Exhibition still on hold pending lock down restrictions.
Fabriano 300gsm hot press paper. Graphitint pencil washes in Indigo and 4B. Dry pencil work in Staedler Mars clutch 2H, HB, 2B, 4B. Mitsubishi pencils 2H and 4H (the mitusbishi's are much softer than Staedler). Staedler Mars blue pencil and Graphitint Indigo. Same size as previous at 38 x 33 cm image area.

It's a touch on the chaotic side and swamped. A bit like our lives these days

I'm a big fan of your arts , you already know it
And I'm pleased to see that mechanical construction in action too!
Again, very nice detailed drawing, with shading that mimics the steel nicely.
I'm a bit unsure regarding not matched edge of curves of the pieces,that the lighthouse is made of, but it might be done for purpose, am I right Linda?

Release the Kraken!!

Each one of these is more creative than the first. I'm loving the tie-in's from one to the next. It's like a game of "find the hidden message". The pulley-fish are a back for a welcome repeat performance, and the light bulb is a fun recall to the mangler-fish. They're going to look great when they're displayed as a series!

I'm a bit unsure regarding not matched edge of curves of the pieces,that the lighthouse is made of, but it might be done for purpose, am I right Linda?

I don't really understand your question Pogs. Do you mean the colour changes? that was supposed to emulate the way some lighthouses have painted stripes of colour horizontally. Or do you mean the way the curves change over the length of the lighthouse? This is a perspective veiwpoint and the curves alter as you look up or down the length.

Yes, sort of like that. The works need to be consistant thematically across 18 different pieces. But each has to stand alone. So I incorporate different elements in each work that references an earlier one. If you were to see all 14 currently completed you would see the pulley fish and other various bits that turn up more than once.

Forget it Linda , I just found something much better to hang on my eye to!
The way the mechanical arm is hitting the wave, getting throughout it, and then again!
You've made the water to appear like it was kind of solid mass, I'm thinking of ... errrr ... butter?!
You know, something of much dense consistency than the water itself
So the mechanical arm is making a hole into the wave instead!
I bet I can visualise it in my mind!
Awesome imagination you have, and the skill and talent to put it on the paper!
Just every time I look on your art I'm enjoying it even more

I don't know how I missed this earlier. It's superb!

I love the little touches of detail... like the light pull switch The variety of segments and rivets in the arms/tendrils. Touches of cog in the sky, where your average artist would draw cloud-like curves throughout.

But above all I so admire your use of contrast. Punchy darks where they most matter. Creating great three-dimensional depth, allowing my eye to roam, but always being drawn back to the key areas.
