Something to brighten your day

Post by Mike Sibley »

Something to brighten your day....

I ordered a couple of packs of superglue online, and they were delivered this morning...
with 14 old and colourful 11-pence UK stamps! :)

Every one an art masterpiece. :D

:) Thanks for sharing Mike! Wonderful to see! I especially love the Winnie the Pooh ones because of the Canadian connection. The inspiration for him was a Canadian black bear who was named Winnie after the town of Winnipeg Manitoba. She was a mascot for a Canadian regiment in WW1 before she lived in the London zoo.

I didn't know that... but I do now! Thanks :)

How the sender got away with those stamps, I have no idea. I seriously doubt they're still legal - but the Post Office delivered without a penalty.

I've had a close look at them since posting here, and one of those stamps is 1977, another 1978. Two are for 11½ pence, and we haven't had a half-pence since 1984!

Haha! The worst part is that 1977 feels like yesterday!

These are great.
I wonder if they found them squirreled away somewhere in a drawer and decided to use them, just for you!
That envelope is worth framing as is and put on display!
