Today I’ve started new project ~ the puppy
Believe me or not, it took me good 4h of effort to get this far lol…
If I ever become a tattooist ~ I’m gonna be the SLOWEST one on the Earth

Lots to improve, but at least I’m back on an artistic track

I was making up a new idea in my mind today…
The message behind?
*We’re so fragile, the life’s path isn’t any easy …

Just little bit of work today, as the fresh stencil is coming off too easy…
It’s recommended to let it stay over the night ~ but I couldn’t wait
Few wipes more, and It’ll disappear

I’ve tried few things in here…
Soft shading, texture, lettering and the line work.

Line work I’ve messed up.
The stencil was faded, couldn’t see where exactly those lines goes…
Same with the letters.
Edges were missing what did led me to guess work.

I’ve tried to achieve sort of translucent effect on the snail body, just where he’s body is wrapped around the top of the stick…

Still struggling to mix colour correctly.

I’m making lots of mistakes, can not make what I want really, just accepting how it comes to be honest
What you’d say about other artwork please?
What would you suggest to focus on, what’s my weakest point when you looking at it please?

The puppy is flawless. I really can’t offer any advice at all.

The last one carries an interesting message about how precarious life is. I don’t know much about tattoos but my first feeling is that it strikes me as being quite busy. The razor blades catch my attention first probably because of the high contrast, then I’m not sure where to look next. It takes a bit of study and interpretation to understand the message. I’m not sure that’s what you want in a tattoo. I imagine you’d want to make the greatest impact as soon as possible. There’s no question that you have the drawing skills needed whatever medium you choose, but maybe take Linda’s advice into account and take slower steps. I think that black and white tattoos are very impactful and classic. That lion’s paw DEMANDS my attention!!

The latest one, the snail…
The message behind was, that we’re very fragile, and the life path is dangerous ~ those razors representing it.

There’s many things why I went for this design Laurene…
Therefore you’re confused where to focus on.

The razor blades.

I left them as they are.
The purpose for them ~ linework
Practicing straight lining and lettering.

The stencil was interrupted though, I’ve lost those stencil lines that were meant to support me to follow the shape of the razors…

Therefore I’ve messed it up.
Didn’t see any point to start shading them then…

I’ve focused onto snail as it was so detailed, curved shell, nearly translucent body, one colour merging to another, the detailed shading and its soft texture…

Can you see how the snail sits on the top of that stick?
He’s body overlapping the top of the stick, but you can sort of see the stick through its body, can you see it Laurene?

So I was doing my best to compliment this as best as I could.

The flowers…
I’ve failed.
They’re soft blue on the reference, with soft shading.
I was struggling mimic that delicate softness.

It seems I can’t do soft smooth shading just yet…

So I’ve had a great challenging practice on the latest one as you see.
Job is done.
Lesson learnt.
Time to jump on another practice piece, but don’t know what yet.

Linda did advice wisely to easy off, do some basic shapes first and move on then to more challenging.

The problem is, I’m craving for practicing something that’s it’s above my skills, to challenge myself even if I fail.

An easy stuff would be less stressful for sure, but it won’t give me this much challenge like the translucent body of the snail lol lol lol

I will do some less complicated artwork for sure, but my priority is to put myself onto much more stressful path at the moment

Yes, that was definitely a success! Honestly, the snail was my favourite part.

I understand your need to challenge yourself. Keep going! I sense that you’re really enjoying this new medium!
