Hi Arthur. It’s good to have you back. How frustrating for you!

Re: More procreate
Thanks! No, I didn’t find it difficult. At its simplest, you can draw using a single brush or pencil on a single layer. You’re essentially drawing on a screen instead of paper. I think that adding a screen protector like Paperlike helps because otherwise the screen surface can be very slippery. If y...

Re: Neurographic Art
I’ve never heard of this before, but it sounds like a lot of fun. I used to play a game with my nieces when they were little where one person starts a drawing with a random squiggle and each subsequent person adds just one stroke until an image appears. It’s fun to see how each one of us « sees » so...

Re: Wallaby WIP
What a lovely portrait!! As always, Mike’s analysis is spot on. I agree that nothing more is needed in this case. By softly fading out the body in the lower right corner, our attention is automatically focused on that pretty face and those lovely eyes. The only thing I would add is that in my opinio...

Re: Maverick the Airedale
This is a wonderful composition! So playful and cheeky, I can’t stop smiling!! My only comment is that I think I would have a second look at the nose. It may just be me, but the nostrils don’t seem quite balanced to me. If one of the purposes of drawing is to communicate emotion, and I believe it is...

Hi Arthur. It’s so nice to see your beautiful artwork again. I love the softness of the feather. It looks like there’s a texture there, possibly a primed canvas? I didn’t know you could do pyrography on painted surfaces, but then I don’t know much about it.

Re: Walter
Hi and welcome to the forum. I’ll let Mike guide you as to refining your technique. His teaching was and is immeasurably helpful in refining mine. I just wanted to say that Walter is incredibly well rendered! His proportions are spot on, his little face shows all kinds of personality and character, ...

Re: Artists for Conservation Exhibition
Possibly Artpapa, or perhaps The Drawing Forum with me and JD Hillberry? That would explain why searching for "goose" at DWM didn't find your drawing. And I searched just in case I was wrong, and it wasn't a goose... although I was certain it was. :) Yes! I’m sure you’re right. It must ha...

Re: Artists for Conservation Exhibition
Thank you so much Mike! I’m just happy that my artwork can be put to good use. Yes, that’s a goose! Actually it’s a snow goose. They’re usually all white with black wing tips, but there are colour variants. This is a blue phase snow goose. Each one will have a different pattern but I was lucky enoug...

Re: Artists for Conservation Exhibition
Once again I am grateful to be included in this year’s Artists for Conservation 2023 virtual exhibit and book. Two of my pieces were chosen, both of which I developed right here with my forum friends. As a matter of fact, the red-tailed hawk composition was a result of Mike pushing me beyond my boun...
