Re: Charcoal Landscape/Seascape

This is Ervik on the west coast of Norway in the early morning. I used charcoal and pan-pastel. It's 20x15 cm. It was done in a break between Mike's Videos to loosen up a bit and digest all the knowledge in those videos. I was unfortunate to drag some charcoal into the ocean on the right side. Well...

Re: What I am drawing on

You have those facial features so well sculpted that I really feel the paper itself is bending and curving that way. Bearing your aim in mind, I think that's a direct result of focusing more on impression. I find the same when I'm drawing hair, or trees, or anything that isn't mimicking a reference....

Re: German Pointer

If you need any assistance at any point, just post the drawing as it is. We'll all be happy to guide you through it.

And - needless to say - we're looking forward to seeing the finished result! :o ;)

Re: German Pointer

That said - my next challenge will be a dog with long hair. She is a mixed breed called Maia—a lovely little creature. I am afraid there will be a lot of "So.... no pressure on me then!" for you coming up. What the heck! Bring it on! I can stand the pressure... ;) Coincidentally, I was cr...

Re: Havanese

This is my first time posting here, a bit nervous. WHY?! It's a very accomplished drawing. ;) I usually draw in graphite pencil. But I wanted to try a colored pencil piece and this little guy was just screaming for color instead of black/white, what do you think? I can understand your prefe...

Re: German Pointer

Mike, I look forward to your comprehensive critique that will give me guidance toward the right way out of the tunnel. So.... no pressure on me then! :) Well.... this is super. You're absolutely 100% heading in the right direction... and quite far into the journey, too. BELA-Pointer.jpg I enlarged ...

Re: PLATE-FINISH Papers choice

Thank you for including me, but at the moment I am fighting eyesight problems. Cataract I have waited for 5 years to be done and now AMD in one eye. I really hope you get that fixed soon. I don't have your problems, but I do have multiple floaters in one eye now, and double-vision when working clos...

Re: PLATE-FINISH Papers choice

If someone succeeded in wrestling those last sheets of Mellotex out of my hands, I’d choose Conqueror over Olin. Me too. But I think Olin might suit some people, and it's definitely cheaper, so I'm going to stock both. The worst that can happen is that a couple of hundred sheets of Olin will gather...
