Thank you. I believe I have come a long way since joining in December.I think it is time to try a whole animal. I will continue to learn and push myself to do better.

You can try improve the LHS of the nostril though, which is less convincing of being 3D form - it does look flatter (2D alike) in comparison to the other.
I'll see if I can improve on this and repost, thank you for you advice.

lindaspencils and JayS thank you fr your kind words. It gets frustrating sometimes cause I seem like I am not learning anything and making the same mistakes over and over again. I will continue on this journey and see where it will take me.

Could the softness of the wood, be because it is on vellum paper? that paper has a tooth to it, unlike a hot press paper.

I have placed kitty in a pile of things not to do for the time being. I will reattempt him in the near future. Good lad! I begin to think I am getting it, but I lose it between layers. yeah Darrel does use a brush to blend his drawings; however, I have seen many artist using brushes. I do see what you're saying about making the image looking softer. I use a 1" brush the same as you to clean off eraser dust from my drawing and desk. I unfortunately have to erase more than you....
