If not, I'm wondering if she's thinking a tattoo is a ten-minute job... or that she has no interest at all in how long it takes or what goes into it. You must have come across this when you've drawn commissioned pencil portraits - when the client had absolutely no ...

Re: Fell into my drawing
You wrote that so eloquently, Andy, that I could mentally follow your journey. Welcome to the world of creating your own world! ;)
Whilst I can't claim to have been on such an extended journey myself, I always leave a lot of room in my compositions for invention. The animals are tied down tight ...

Stay within the Basic Technique series. By all means, watch them all in sequence ...

It's looking great! As I expected it to.

Re: Advice
Should I perfect what I have learned before moving on to the next section? Or, should I notice what I have to work on and move on to the next?
Move on. Definitely, move on.
First, if you try to perfect a particular technique, you'll be doing so in isolation. You need to know ALL the ...

Re: My Bird
I think you have two problems here:
First, the head: You're concentrating on detail and not noticing the three-dimensional shaping. Or, to put that another way, I think the three-dimensional form is visually more important than the texture, which can be suggested. The FORM is the first thing we ...

Re: Commision Work
AND I insist on holding copyright to the work. If they want to purchase copyright for publishing then that is a whole new set of costs. These rules do tend to put off the 'oh, my sister wrote book you should illustrate' types.
Ditto! I should have mentioned that. Arguably, the copyright is worth ...
