Re: Licensing Artwork

I am sorry it took so much time off your hands to find the information! Don't be! Entirely my fault. I remember downloading everything from both Artpapa and TheDrawingForum... but no luck finding it. It's probably in an old computer. I even checked DVDs from years ago... If you need anything...

When you receive enquiries for use of your work, this might help. It's my standard copy-and-paste answer (suitably modified, of course). You can download from here: COMMERCIAL-ENQUIRY or just copy this: ********************************** Dear We license commercial use of the head studies in Exclusiv...

Re: Licensing Artwork

This is annoying me, because I appear to have lost all the old posts on the subject. I saved everything from Artpapa when it closed and reposted them into TheDrawingForum that I ran with JD Hillbury. I was the designer and webmaster, so I MUST have all the data somewhere... So, I've spent an ...

Re: Timeless an old woman

First, I really hope your finger has fully recovered. We missed you. ;) I'm honestly undecided about this. There's excellent work in it, but some parts jar a little. I can't help wishing there was just a little light in the eyes. Just the tiniest hint would turn them from dark holes to eyes in deep ...

Re: Mum portrait...

I must say - the foliage on the reference is more detailed, as you can imagine a bunch of garden flowering plants - but it's the portrait, not botanical illustration (😅) - so I'm making it up rather than closely copying leaf by leaf, and making it out of focus at the same time... Excellent - on bot...

Re: Mum portrait...

I'm noticing an issue - the paper! Unfortunately, the surface (back side) has the texture! It's appearing as a tiny vertical lines, which when absorbing the graphite particles... So I'm doing my best to mask it instead as best as I can. I was going to comment on that yesterday, but I was doing a fi...

This is progressing remarkably well!

And her eyes are moist and alive, too.

Re: Tonal Shading House Exercise

Thank you, Mike! Is there an outline for the lily? 🙏🥹 No... but there is now. :D And I've updated the HOUSE image for you. LILY-Line.zip HouseModel-Line.zip Both contain the regular line drawing, and a lighter version for printing onto your paper. As you can't erase it, the light version should - h...

Truly superb!

Especially when you're using such an unforgiving medium. And one that where halftones aren't easily achieved. Splendid!

Re: Vietnamese Lady WIP

I have to say that I love this just as it is! The material (I'm assuming silk) is positively alive! You've absolutely captured the movement and swirl, and the way it moulds itself to her figure as she walks. Wonderful! And I doubt any additional detail would add anything at all - and might ev...
