Re: Digital Graphite

Looks fantastic Laurene, Love the feather textures and tonal quality. I get what you mean about the beak and I have noticed this same effect on quite a lot of digital art. Sorry, cant help, I don't have the experience in using digital art. I tried digital art some years ago (using Photoshop or Corel...

Re: Impossible references

Re: Impossible references

Hi Rob , I agree that Laurene has the best solution if at all possible. But your sketch is pretty much spot on, I can definitely see a likeness to the dog in your sketch (but then I am not the owner). In the past I have had some pretty dire ref photos, but very lucky I have never had a rejection, th...

I wasn't sure...

3 completed wildlife images

Hello everyone, Thought it was time I posted some of my work and although these three are not pure graphite I thought this would be the best place to post them. They are all roughly A4 size on Derwent grey toned pastel paper (quite smooth). I used a 3B mechanical pencil, a prismacolour white pencil ...

Re: graphite

I quite like Bristol velum, but not for animals as it gives a very soft feel to coloured pencils, I use it for landscapes, and flowers. I like a crisp detailed finish for animals so stick to my favourite, although you can try mounting board (matt board) it is lovely and smooth and works well as well...

Re: Arctic Wolf WIP for critique

Hi Jean, I agree with what has already been said by Linda and Artur and cant really add any more to it regarding your technique, but, and really this is a personal opinion only, I would like to see you bring the neck and chest down a little more, at the moment the head is not 'sitting' on anything a...
