The TARANTULA 🙉🙊🙈

This is something especially for you dear Mike - the TARANTULA subject 🙊🙉🙈

It’s her favourite Poecilotheria Rufilata🫶🏼

My client came by yesterday early morning!
9:30am…

Yes😅

She has dropped off her daughter to school and straight down to my house…
She told me she’ll have to leave at 13 hours for same reason…

This is why (as usual) I haven’t managed to finish the tattoo at one go.

I’ve focused to get the outline down for further reference, and I’ve tried to mark the darkest tones visible on the tarantula…
The next session I’ll try to improve the whole hairy body of the spider to make it more detailed and attractive ❤️

This is my FIRST attempt ever to make tarantula.
Years years ago I’ve drawn the Black Widow, which is hairless spider…
This time I felt great challenge to achieve the hairy effect not really making single hairs …

I’m happy so far, my client is happy as well🫶🏼
I’m sure about it, because for 3h I’ve asked for £30 and got paid £50❤️

Thank you for watching dear friends🫶🏼

Great work, my friend! I don’t think I would have been able to get such a clean silhouette from that reference photo. Well done!

Thank you very much for kind comment Laurene☺️
I hope the wole design will be looking a bit better once it’s finished 🫶🏼
The reference is bad, I know it - but I’d like to use it because of the angle the spider is presented…
And it’s representing the correct specimen of Poecilotheria Rufilata, not any other similar looking if you know I mean.

Yes, I do know what you mean. I’ve been there too. If the pose is perfect, the photo is out of focus. If it’s in focus, the pose is all wrong. LOL. That’s where the artist comes in. Your drawing is so much better than the reference!

Everything Laurene just said.

Not because I'm lazy, but there really is nothing else to say... :D

That's a super drawing from a questionable reference.

What I like about this ink is that you refrained from using too much line to express the hairiness of the trantula - you have used just enough to show that it is hairy without blurring or overdrawing. As tattoos do tend to blur and fade with age, loosing their crispness, your restraint with this means this work will stand the test of time! Well done Pogs!

I wouldn’t be able to put the thoughts into words better, than you just did Linda 🫶🏼
Thank you very much for keen words.

Hi dear friends.
I’ve finished the tarantula last Friday.
It’s my very first tarantula art work ever - I bet it could be more professionally done, but it’s my best I’m capable of at this stage…
My client likes it and complimenting, her friends complimenting too, my tattoo artist friends are positive as well - so after all I think it’s not too bad?
Thank you for watching ❤️
