Drawing done from reference photo used with permission of Carrie-Anne Goodchild as a ‘monthly challenge’ for a Facebook animal art group. It is interesting to see the same image portrayed in a variety of media - the majority of members work in colour. I enjoyed drawing the bird, but not so much the foliage and would do it very differently next time.

Hi Elaine. Kestrels are one of my favourite raptors. They look so small and colourful, I forget what great hunters they are! You really captured that killer look in his eye and beak.
It's funny you mentioned the foliage because I just finished watching one of Mike videos on the post titled "Drawing Hair - the basic method" :
