The night the sunflowers disappeared…

My grandfather loved sunflowers. He loved the way they followed the sun.
. It’s one of my fondest memories of him, so this year I planted some from seed. I watered them, and tended to them, until they blossomed into the most beautiful flowers, just as I remembered!! I was so proud!
One morning, I noticed that my doorbell cam was activated by a gorgeous raccoon! He was magnificent! I was so pleased as I went around the house into my back yard. That’s when I saw the carnage! All of my sunflowers were decapitated and lying on the ground.
There were raccoon prints all around.
As disappointed as I was, I’m happy that at least, they didn’t go to waste.
