Just because I complimented you on your lettering, there's no need to show off!
Although, that said, how you achieve such perfect lettering while wrapping it around a crumpled tube leaves me speechless...
"............ ..... ..... .. ............" See. Told you.
Love the whole concept. Especially the surprised fishes, and the one still exuding from the tube. Well, "surprised" hardly scratches the surface - more like sheer wonderment at a world newly discovered.

lol. Well I DID have the tube in front of me to assist with the look. But how did I achieve it? Going back to the idea of simple, basic shapes first. Ignore that it is a 'letter' and look for how the curves and dents of the tube make the
shapes Start with blocks or squares that follow the form, divide them into lines and curves and negative spaces that create 'letter' shapes. Yes, you have to pay attention to the height, width, etc of each letter shape, but essentially it is lines, blocks and circles that wrap around a tubular form. So if you can draw bark wrapping around a tree or the like, you can draw the shapes of letters.
... course... having a background it typography can help a little bit too...
thanks Mike - hope you are enjoying lovely spring weather! It snowed here in the mountains last night and we finally had good soaking rain to break a looming drought. The farmers are happy.

You’re so imaginative and creative Linda! This is the kind of image you just can’t unsee. The next time I use my anchovy paste, I’m going to peek in the tube before squeezing

……just in case….
