The Taxi drivers don't speak Polish any more in here, the bus drivers don't speak Polish any more ...
They do speak Ukrainian...
I can understand that.
All the best bus drivers in the UK speak Polish!
Sorry! I just couldn't resist the temptation...

Well…
The time has come ~ I’ve received the iPad yesterday…
It took me a while, you know, playing with settings everything, eventually managed to do some drawing today…
I hate myself while I’m doing so, but the digital drawing is so engaging indeed.
It’s actually putting me off the drawing desk, I hate it.
I’m not sure if I’m doing right or wrong, but I started same drawing once again on my iPad now -just to practice and see how the same drawing will go digitally…
I did some drawings(digital drawings)in past and this joy is coming back again.
I can do loose sketching I can do details same way as on the paper, but with more perfection as I can reverse or forward each stroke if I need to and it let me compliment perfection…
I’ve got the paper artwork still on the desk, so I can come back to it whenever I want to, but please forgive me as I’m tempting a lot to finish this drawing off digitally…
This is a fresh start done this far.
I have started on blank canvas, I’ve transferred outlines over it and as you can see, I’ve started filling up the background with digital charcoal brush.
I’m digitally drawing Old Fashion Way ~ I always been.
So no any tricks are involved into my digital artwork, other than simply advantage of drawing on the digital display, and using the software Old Fashion Way ~ to achieve the goal…
The only thing I’m struggling with is making the canvas texture.
I’m doing something wrong and can not pin point it just yet, so the whole piece is looking as flat as polished surface…
Mike I remember you aren’t fancy the texture on the paper, as you prefer to make the texture by yourself when needed…
The digital drawing can look very artificial without textured canvas effect, but I’d like to hear your point of view please?

First, I don't dislike your black background at all. However, it is perhaps
too perfect. I know from Laurene's Procreate work that producing the "hand-drawn" look is possible, and that's my preference. That's not just because it shows signs of its creation, but because a "too perfect" look somehow lowers its status to machine-made... even though it isn't. This is not easy to explain.
I aim in my own drawings to give a sense of reality while maintaining the hand-drawn appearance. I could, if I wished - but I don't! - aim for photo-realism, but I think the result would be a soulless illustration rather than a work of art. Again, difficult to explain, but I hope you understand my meaning.
Even if your background held nothing more than a mere suggestion of
anything - it would then have a purpose and increase both the depth and interest. For example, the spray-painted edges down near the base suggest that it could be used to create variations of texture and value within the background, Then each viewer could make their own decisions as to what they suggest.

Thank you Mike for commenting.
I’m agree - it isn’t easy to explain at all…
I’m struggling to understand the difference, I sense the feeling, but hard to explain.
I’ve just found on the same website different sets of products with designed brushes for graphite drawing that’s mimicking the real feel of laid graphite mark, including textured paper canvas - I’m tempting.
It’s because the only thing is missing into this digital experience is the feel of the paper’s surface tooth…
You see - the background on my paper artwork has different feeling …
It is exactly same - pitch black, but looks different as the paper tooth is showing sort of dimension…
On this digital piece that sense of dimension is vanished in my opinion…
I’m not going to carry on this digital try anymore.
I have tested it to see how it would look like if made digitally.
I’m just practising and experimenting now, and this was easiest way to let me compare digital to graphite on paper.
I’ve done skull shading today, plenty shapes to deal with, it’s been great exercise to get familiar with digital shading.
That’s it for now, next progress made will be the REAL GRAPHITE back again
Thank you for your interest to comment dear friend.

Slowly the skull starting to show off its very detailed areas that I’m struggling to follow precisely
I don't think you
need to follow it precisely. In fact, what you're doing looks perfectly OK to me.
I was struck by the fact that it appears to be detailed, and impressed by the level of detail - and if that detail is only suggested, that doesn't matter. I still get the
sense of detail.
And, frankly, unless I'm a Forensic Examiner who specialises in Deer and Moose and anything else with antlers, I'm really not going to know what is
should look like.
