Thanks! No, I didn’t find it difficult. At its simplest, you can draw using a single brush or pencil on a single layer. You’re essentially drawing on a screen instead of paper. I think that adding a screen protector like Paperlike helps because otherwise the screen surface can be very slippery. If you’re familiar with layers which I’m sure you already are, you can take advantage of them by splitting up your work on different layers which helps if you need to undo a step.

Hi everyone. I haven’t posted in a long time, but I continue to enjoy experimenting with Procreate on my IPad. I live in eastern Canada, in the Laurentian mountains of Quebec, and the fall colours are spectacular right now! This season isn’t very long for us, but its beauty takes me by surprise every year!

The model for this piece lives in my backyard and loves begging for peanuts. I’m more than happy to oblige and in return I’ve collected quite a few reference photos :).

I’m sure it’s lovely place for living Laurene !!!
It’s really interesting artwork, full of your personal touch ❤️
These beautiful creatures ❤️ I’m guessing by the eyeball ~ are Burunduk [Burundukai (Tamias)]~ the name used in my country.
It’s kind of squirrel that prefers the ground level for living, instead of the trees if I’m correct.
There was actually a time I was interested to get few of those to keep as pets …
Beautiful artwork Laurene 👍👍👍

Thanks Artur, and thanks for sharing that. In French we call them “suisse” because of the similarities of its stripes to those on the uniforms of the Swiss Guard responsible for the security of the Pope at the Vatican.

These are the Eastern Chipmunk (Scientific name: Tamias striatus), found throughout much of Canada. You’re right, in that they live underground , in burrows, but I’ve seen them climb trees to get fruit. This one became quite used to me and would go to the place where I often left peanuts and sunflower seeds, and call out to be fed! My cat, who is an indoor cat only, knew the sound and would get comfy in a window to watch the chipmunk gather the nuts.

After I posted this, I corrected the base of the large white pumpkin in the back, because it didn’t blend into the ground. I played with other shadows and light too.

Chipmunk 🐿️ ♥️
I remember the Disney's cartoon story I enjoyed to watch 💖
Chip and Dale ?

I can see your colour/tonal improvement, I'm the same - it bothers me until I correct it the way I like it to be 😉👍

Reading your story is cheerful Laurene!
Thank you.

Merry Christmas to all of my friends here on the forum!
Have a wonderful holiday with friends and family, and continue to enjoy your art journey.

If any of you draw digitally, this little Christmas card was done in Procreate using the animation feature.

[ED: Don't forget to watch it full screen!]

A big thank you to Mike for helping me post this!
