Thank you Laurene…
Maybe this is what they have had complimented?
The realism I’ve achieved ?

To answer your question…
It’s very common that people getting on apprenticeship, and taking clients to their home to make 100% profit.

To avoid that nasty behaviour, the Tattoo Studio owner requires to leave the machines at Studio 👍
It’s to prevent stealing clients…

The Studio is making money only when charging clients, if they come to somebody’s house ~ can you see the reason in bigger picture now Laurene?

Yes, of course I can buy a spare machine to practice home, but it’s few hundreds £££ …
But what if I post it online, and sooner or later Luke discovers I’m having another machine home…

I’m not ready to make this purchase, but I’m sure I could ask Luke for permission if I really want to 👍

Another problem would be to find free time for it?
Remember I’m driving buses for long hours, and on my days off I’m going to Studio 9am until 16pm…

In my case practice at home wouldn’t be convenient solution, as I have other things to look after too…

Thank you Laurene for keen words 😉👍

I see now. It does make sense from Luke’s point of view. And as for your colleagues’ comments, I would definitely accept them as being sincere compliments.

That's very understandable. But I think there's something quite important hiding in that sentence... That you're not accepting limitations imposed by others.

Personally, I hate compromise. You know, the sort that says, "Litho printing can only achieve an 80% black, so you've got to accept your blacks being dark grey." If that thinking had been accepted everywhere, we'd never have inkjet or giclée printing. So, I think knowing too much is often more dangerous than not knowing a lot. Because when you don't know something can't be done... you just go ahead and figure out a way to do it.

This is a story I saved some time ago (I have an idea for another book in mind), but it illustrates my point. I've edited it for brevity:
A student at Columbia University fell asleep during a mathematics lecture... When the lecture ended, he found that the doctor had written two problems on the blackboard. He said to himself, “Sure, homework problems.” and transferred them to his notebook in order to solve them at home.

When he tried, he found that they were very difficult...but he kept trying and trying and going to the library to get references and research until he was able with difficulty to solve only one problem.

In the lecture that followed, he noticed that the doctor did not ask about the assignment! So the student got up and asked him why. The doctor said it was not obligatory and... "I was presenting examples of mathematical problems that science and scientists were unable to solve!”

The student (George Dantzig) was amazed and said: “But I solved one of them in four papers!”

He solved the problem for one reason... because he did not hear the doctor say: “No one could find the solution.”
So, I think you're searching for an answer that cannot currently be found... but if anyone can find it - it will be you.

I love that wise story tale a lot dear Mike ❤️
It's clearly pointing the human nature, THE HOPE?

Thank you very much for believing in me Mike ❤️

I’d like to share today’s update if you don’t mind please 😉

Where to start..? 😉

I’ve found this morning convenient time to show Luke my rose practice 👍
He was patiently looking on it, sort of studying the way it was done…
At some point I’ve asked - Luke, could you point any area you think it could be improved?
So I could have learn on it?
- Luke has pointed, the soft shading at the edge of the left top corner ~ he said the edge will disappear after some time when fully healed, so I’ll be better of to firmly mark that edge to accent the body of the rose, so even though the shading won’t be noticeable anymore, the firm mark I make will point that the petal of the flower is there 👍

Then he has added - SO YOU MAY FANCY DOING TATTOOS AFTER NEW YEAR?
🙉🙈🙊

I went ~ am I ready ?
😅❤️💕👍😉

Luke has repeated himself once more late afternoon before leaving the Studio…
It means he didn’t throw his words by mistake 👍

He did advice to begin with some small, simplistic design first, he said bring it on, we’ll discuss it, and off you go 👍

I have already advertised myself on Facebook, hoping some of my friends may want getting a free tattoo next year 💕❤️💕

Luke is surprising me.
From circles and line work at first, he has asked me for traditional rose to make, then this realistic rose…
And after a New Year ~ tattooing living canvas that can talk back to me ❤️
(Mike!!! I like this saying a lot, and can not forget it anymore, that my canvas can TALK 😅😅😅)

So things are changing a lot, Luke has kept his word given, that I’ll need only some time to adapt to the new tool, then I’ll be ready…

It seems he’s appreciated with my skills showing on practice pieces …
Yes, of course I’m scared !!!
Lol 🙈🙉🙊😅
But it is what I was asking for, and I knew it’s gonna happen sooner or later 🙉😉👍

So he hasn’t asked me for anything else this morning, I mean to start new subject on a fake skin.
That means I could get back to my ferry girl then and carry on mixing colours ❤️❤️❤️
I have improved the face a bit, and I’ve moved onto her arm…
Even though the stencil marks are obscure, and can not be removed anymore, I’d like to carry on practice on this fake skin ~ because it’s something within this subject, that attracts me a lot to finish it…

Thank you friends for following my life tales ❤️

I understand the trepidation. But you'll be just fine - and I suspect you know that. :)

When I look at these practice pieces, and compare them to what I've seen on TV (Jenny likes to watch the tattoo cover-up shows).... your work is well into the upper section. And while I realise the skin can talk back to you, I suspect it's going to be very complimentary.

I’m hoping for it to be easy for me (😉) the first try 👍
We’ve got Polish saying adequate to the situation :
Pierwsze koty za płoty 😅
Straight forward it’s ~ First cats over the fence 😅
It means ~ the first step is the hardest, then it gets easier afterwards 👍
Thank you Mike ❤️

Please hug your dear Jenny from me ❤️
And I thank you both for believing in me 💕

Hey!! Congratulations my friend! That’s how dreams come true, not by wishing and hoping, but by putting in the work. You deserve this! What a great Christmas present for you.

I’m loving this little fairy girl. Her skin is so soft, I can “feel” it.
