USING FIXATIVES AND REMOVING GRAPHITE SHINE

Now available in the TIPS & TRICKS aisle :)

Covers:
  • Early experiments
  • Fixative types
  • Workable fixative uses
  • Why using hairspray is not a good choice
  • Using fixatives mid-drawing
  • Restoring graphite darks to their true values
  • Removing the shine from graphite - see above, just saying...
  • How to apply fixative to your drawing (my way)
All the benefits explored - such as restoring the intensity of graphite blacks by removing the troublesome shine.

Why not have a go yourself? Apply a block of 6B (or the grade of your choice), spray with a workable fixative and watch it grow darker. Now layer more graphite on top. Fix that and watch it grow darker... Experiment. It's the only way to discover what works for you.
