This Dalmatian lived fairly near to me in North Yorkshire and I chose it out of the three the owner had available. The breed are known as "Carriage Dogs" in the UK, because they were used as guard dogs for carriages and habitually ran beneath the axles between destinations. In the USA, where they cleared the road ahead for the horse-drawn fire engines, they are known as "Fire Dogs". This was also the penultimate study before I drew the head-study series to a close.
The drawing took approximately 72 hours to complete.
